Charge Your EV, Get a Free Ice Cream: Ampol's AmpCharge Offer Explained
Ampol is giving EV drivers a free Connoisseur Vanilla or Cookies and Cream ice cream (90-110mL) when they charge at an AmpCharge public charger located at a Foodary store.
The offer runs until 4 August 2026 and is redeemed through the Ampol app.
We spotted this one ourselves and thought it was too good not to pass on.
Disclaimer: DriveWise has no commercial relationship with Ampol, AmpCharge or Connoisseur.
This isn't sponsored content, it's simply a tasty deal worth sharing with anyone plugging in on the road.
How does the free ice cream offer work?
Start an EV charging session through the Ampol app at a Foodary location fitted with AmpCharge public charging.
Once your session begins, Ampol sends an SMS or email with a QR code for your free ice cream.
Show that code to a retail team member in-store and they'll hand over your Connoisseur Vanilla or Cookies and Cream tub.
What are the key conditions to know?
The QR code needs to be redeemed within 45 minutes of receiving the SMS or email, and only during Foodary shop trading hours.
Stock is subject to in-store availability, and the offer is capped at one ice cream per customer every seven days.
The promotional window runs from 1 July 2026 through to 4 August 2026.
Which locations are eligible?
Only Foodary stores with AmpCharge public charging bays qualify.
Ampol's AmpCharge network spans multiple states including Western Australia, New South Wales and Queensland, with new sites continuing to roll out.
Check the Ampol app for your nearest eligible charger before you head out.
Is this a good reason to charge at Ampol?
A free ice cream isn't going to make or break your choice of charging network, but if you're already near a Foodary with AmpCharge bays, it's a small, welcome bonus while you wait out a charge session.
Worth keeping in mind for anyone doing regular EV road trips or commutes through Ampol-served corridors.
