Lepas AURA Concept Unveiled: What It Means for Australia
Written by Daniel Romero
Lepas's first concept car previews a design language the brand calls Leopard Aesthetics, and hints at how future Lepas models will look.
Lepas has unveiled AURA, its first concept car, at a preview event in China on 23 October 2026. The brand says the show car previews its future design direction and its vision for innovative electrified mobility.
AURA is the first expression of what Lepas calls Leopard Aesthetics, a design language built around the brand's "Natural Energy" philosophy. In practice that means confident proportions, flowing surfaces and distinctive lighting, with a long wheelbase, short overhangs and a wide stance drawing on the movement and muscularity of a leopard.
Sculpted surfaces, pronounced shoulders and integrated air channels are there to balance visual strength with aerodynamic functionality, according to Lepas.
"AURA explores elegance through composure rather than decoration," said Ivan Dulanović, Chief Designer of Lepas.
A New Face for Future Lepas Models
The concept introduces a new front fascia that combines the grille and side intakes into a single clean black surface. Signature Leopard headlamps establish a design identity Lepas says will carry through to future models.
AURA also explores personalisation. Front and rear displays can carry customised graphics, lighting and animations, and three exterior colours are shown. Dawn Pearl, Bacalar Blue and Provence Twilight draw inspiration from natural landscapes, ranging from the soft tones of sunrise to the deep hues of twilight.
Lepas says AURA's proportions, surfaces, lighting and colour themes will help inform the next generation of Lepas vehicles.
What Does This Mean for Australian Buyers?
Nothing you can order yet. Lepas hasn't announced pricing, timing or specifications for Australia, and there's no word yet on a Lepas Australia launch. As a concept car, AURA is a design study rather than a production vehicle, so the details that matter to new car buyers in Australia, such as range, charging, safety ratings and price, aren't part of this reveal.
What AURA does signal is the look of future Lepas models, here and elsewhere. The front and rear display personalisation is the most production-relevant idea on the concept, since customisable lighting and screen-based exterior graphics are already appearing on cars from other brands.
DriveWise will update this story when Lepas confirms Australian details.
